Do you have a hole in your bucket? Or perhaps the handle has fallen off? Then pick up a new one today, from us here at Speedy Plastics. But there’s no need to throw your old one away – there are plenty of things you, the wife or kids can use it for:

Storage

Buckets are a great way of storing lots of small items. They work great as pen pots and if you add fabric pockets to the outside these can make handy tool holders. If you are into sewing or crafts then it could make a perfect organiser for your materials.

Indoor Planters

Give your bucket a lick of paint and you have a stylish indoor plant pot. They are extremely popular in kitchens, conservatories and outhouses for home grown produce and herbs. And they look even better with a pattern painted on them - but that’s only for those of you with steady hands.

Wine or Champagne Bucket

If you like a tipple or 2 (or 6) then keep your booze cool on long and hot (if we’re lucky) summer nights with an ice bucket. Simply wash out your old bucket with hot soapy water and fill with ice. Then place your drink of choice carefully in the ice for a cool beverage whenever you fancy.

Gift Buckets

Instead of the traditional gift basket why not give the present of a Birthday Bucket? You could fill it with cocktail making paraphernalia for a 21st or make a beach survival kit, set with spade and flags for a child’s birthday during the summer months. The possibilities are endless – you can fill your bucket with anything you like!

Light Shades

Do you live in a modern industrial building or a converted barn? Then bring a sense of its history back with a contemporary twist through unusual and recycled fittings. Metal buckets make great light shades and can look really cool too.

Halloween

A quick and easy use for an old bucket is to paint it orange, or cover it in paper, and give it to your child next Halloween when they go trick or treating. They’ll need something to put all those sweets in after all – it may even save you a few quid.

So will you be getting creative with these uses of a bucket? Waste not want not. Send us a picture of your best efforts – we’d love to see them.
